Hessian is the beginning of a project looking at a collection of fantasy tools and byproducts of an unknown product and an imagined process.

One of the things that I took from the Mike Nelson show at the Tate was looking at tools and pieces of equipment with no idea what they were used for but just enjoying them as objects in their own right. With that in mind I am developing a series of pieces suggestive of a manual process with an unknown outcome. I'm interested in a fantasy workshop environment, the stacking of materials, the arrangements of bottles and related paraphernalia. 

The"wads" measure about 15cm. I am developing ways to display these along with reimagined scrap, waste or by-products.
