fold and curve

Decorators heavy duty card, emulsion paint and fluorescent paper.

Unable to throw away offcuts and often inspired by them, here I have worked with the natural memory curve of the heavy duty card which holds on to its rolled up shape long after its been released. By enhancing, folding, cutting and twisting, the card has its own beauty without any further embellishment. Adding the fluorescence was a way of exploring a lightness where the the forms connect to the wall, creating a glow, giving a sense of the form hovering. There is an energy which is enhanced by the fluorescent contrast with the dark, sometimes almost fizzing. The shapes themselves connect to nature with spirals, curves and sensuous forms.
